From there, take a walk through the Old Center, wandering along its narrow, winding streets that still carry the echoes of a rich cultural heritage, filled with centuries-old traditions, fascinating historical stories and stunning landscapes. A truly breathtaking spot is the Passari Tower, built directly into the sea.
The true narrators of Molfetta's soul are its churches. A magnificent work of art is the Duomo — the undisputed symbol of the town. Words alone cannot do justice to this gem: a remarkable example of Apulian Romanesque architecture, featuring domes on axis and crowned by a pair of elegant twin towers.
The Duomo was dedicated to Saint Corrado and built in the 12th century. Its most important walls have remained unchanged over the centuries, exuding a sense of solemnity and grandeur through the warm glow of its white stone, with its beautiful towers facing directly out to sea.
Alongside the Duomo, another place not to be missed is the Baroque Cathedral of the Assunta, as well as the churches of Saint Pietro, Saint Stefano, the Purgatory Church and the Church of Saint Domenico, where several canvases by Corrado Giaquinto are preserved.
Inside the Church of Saint Stefano, you can admire magnificent wooden statues, part of an ancient and deeply rooted tradition in Molfetta — carried through the streets in solemn procession during Holy Week, in the days leading up to Easter.
The itinerary can be beautifully concluded with a leisurely walk along the port. We highly recommend strolling along the quay at sunset or in the evening, catching the shimmering reflection of the Adriatic Sea and admiring the fishing boats — an experience not to be missed.

Passari Tower
The Torrione Passari is a historic watchtower located on the coast of Molfetta.
Built in the 16th century as part of the coastal fortifications commissioned by the Spanish, the tower played a key role in defending the town against pirate attacks. The tower is an outstanding example of Renaissance military architecture, with an imposing cylindrical structure and powerful walls rising above the sea.
Today, the Torrione Passari is an outpost for art: it has been restored and transformed into an exhibition space for contemporary art shows and cultural events. Visitors can climb to the top of the tower and enjoy a breathtaking view over the harbour and the Adriatic Sea.

Duomo of Molfetta
The Duomo di Molfetta, officially known as the Cattedrale di San Corrado or Duomo Vecchio di San Corrado, is a magnificent example of Apulian Romanesque architecture.
The cathedral features an imposing façade in white limestone, with two bell towers soaring towards the sky and dominating the town's skyline. The exterior of the duomo is admired for its elegant architectural lines and the sculptural details adorning its façade. Facing the sea — as with many of the nearby coastal towns, so that it could be seen by sailors approaching from afar — this architectural masterpiece can be admired both while strolling along Molfetta's seafront and while sailing just off its small harbour.

Santo Stefano Church
The Chiesa di Santo Stefano (Santo Stefano Church), seat of the confraternity of the same name, stands on the street that runs alongside Molfetta's harbour, along which the town's main monuments unfold.
Its Renaissance-style façade, perfectly nestled among the buildings of Corso Dante, is characterised by two aligned domes and the maiolica-tiled cladding of its small, distinctive bell tower.
Inside the church stand the wooden statues depicting the Passion of Christ, known as the "Misteri" ("Mysteries"), the central figures of the Good Friday Procession.
