House Museum Giuliani

Casa Museo Giuliani  is housed in the heart of Bisceglie, in a palazzo dating back to 1794, an elegant documentary centre dedicated to the artist and the musical context of his time -  Mauro Giuliani (1781–1829) one of the most important guitarists and composers of the early Classical/Romantic era, known for his Rossiniane (guitar transcriptions of works by Rossini) and for his contribution to the development of six-string guitar technique. 

The house museum, dedicated to the celebrated composer of the Rossiniane, often hosts art exhibitions and classical music concerts.

A treasure trove of rarities linked to the history of the guitar, it houses extremely rare pieces belonging to the family collection: birth and civil records, family correspondence, lithographs, engravings, posters, newspapers, books and chronicles of the period; among this heritage, the rarest piece is a guitar dating from 1804, built by the Neapolitan luthier Gennaro Fabbricatore for Maestro Mauro Giuliani, who was the first to fully exploit the use of the sixth string on the guitar.

Every room of the house museum is not only a journey into the history of music, but also a sensory experience that delights the eye, with perfectly preserved antique furniture and objects that recreate an intimate and fascinating picture of Maestro Giuliani's life.
