Lama Santa Croce - Karst Valley

Gardens and parks

Lama Santa Croce is a karst valley located in the countryside of Bisceglie, renowned for its evocative natural caves and rock formations. An area of almost a thousand hectares of unique scenic beauty, it also offers a wealth of natural and archaeological heritage of immense value. The landscape remains completely wild, with spontaneous vegetation of prickly pears and Mediterranean scrub, set within an overall habitat that is still practically untouched. Within this ecosystem lie archaeological remains of great value, such as the Grotta di Santa Croce, frequented since prehistoric times, just like the nearby dolmens. The Grotta di Santa Croce was shaped over millennia by the action of water and can be visited.
A Neanderthal femur was also discovered inside the cave. This natural area is a true paradise for speleology and adventure enthusiasts.

Hikers can follow the trails that cross the lama, admiring the natural landscape and the spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Guided tours offer the chance to discover the geological history of the area and understand the ecological importance of this unique environment. Lama Santa Croce is a place of great natural beauty, offering unforgettable experiences in close contact with unspoilt nature.
