Diocesano Museum of Molfetta

The Museo Diocesano di Molfetta  is an important cultural institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing the artistic and religious heritage of the diocese.

Housed within an ancient convent, it holds a collection of sacred art comprising paintings, sculptures, liturgical silverware and manuscripts that tell the story of faith and art in the region. Among its most significant works are paintings by Corrado Giaquinto, a renowned 18th-century artist born in Molfetta. Corrado Giaquinto (1703–1766) was one of the most important Italian painters of the Rococo/late Baroque period, active at the courts of Naples, Rome and Madrid. 

The museum regularly organises temporary exhibitions and cultural events to promote knowledge and appreciation of sacred art. Educational activities and workshops for schools help make the museum a place of learning and discovery for all ages.
